South Bank Corporation today, during National Reconciliation Week 2022, proudly announces the commissioning of an impressive and meaningful First Nations public artwork as part of our soon to be refurbished Central Cafes grab-n-go food precinct in the Parklands.
This project is part of the Corporation’s journey to strengthen our connections with First Nations communities and peoples, and create experiences at South Bank that celebrate First Nations culture.
The artwork will be a collaboration between talented local Indigenous artists Stephen Hogarth and Silvia Jones-Terare and celebrate some of the local flora and fauna, the river and waterways.
We look forward to working with Stephen and Silvia as they create this artwork and share their story and connection to place with the people of Brisbane.
The community is invited to have their say on the preliminary design for South Bank’s Grey Street Bikeway and Streetscape project.
Released today, the Future South Bank Master Plan outlines proposals for the future of this well-loved space, with better connections, more active transport and more trees. It’s a plan to make South Bank even better.
Brisbane’s French Festival returns to South Bank bigger and better for a special edition.
